MTCC decides to make allowances for pregnant women and female with children under two years of age employed within their company under a "Flexible Work Arrangement" program initiated this Women's Day, in addition to offering extended break hours.
Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has determined to offer various eases to mothers and pregnant women employed at the company.
This development introduced during a special ceremony held by the company in celebration of Women’s Day highlighted the company's determination to facilitate a “Flexible Work Arrangement” policy for pregnant employees alongside female employees with children under one years of age under these alleviations. Additionally, a work break window of three hours has been determined to be offered to pregnant women and mothers with children under two years of age employed within MTCC.
CEO of MTCC, Abdulla Ziyadh stated that the company had decided to offer these options to Women in order to cultivate and establish a work environment that provides ease of passage for women with babies as well as females experiencing the strenuous days of pregnancy. Ziyadh had assured that the company celebrates Women’s Day each year aiming to foster equal opportunities for both genders within various field of work.
The CEO had further maintained that MTCC remains a company that empowers their female employees while facilitating opportunities for them and that the role of women in the developmental journey of the company has been wide since the inception of the company. Ziyadh stated that the company frames the presence of females working in various roles in the company, from managerial positions to various levels of position in multiple departments as a source of pride for the company.
He had elaborated that females are engaged in various administrative and technical roles of the company and are also noted the wide variety of roles they fill, such as project managers, site supervisors, surveying officers, bus attendants, bus drivers as well as security officers as well.
The company expressed hope to see more female engagement within roles such as welders, carpenters, heavy vehicle operators, launch operators, as well as boat crew in the upcoming days.
