The first four towers nearing conclusion of construction from the housing project being established in Phase 2 of Hulhumale City by the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has begun their elevator installations.

Managing Director of FDC Hamdhan Shakeel assured that once the lift installation in these towers are completed, the area surrounding the building will be cleared.

He ascertained that the construction of 512 apartments within these four towers will be fully concluded by the end of this month.

The structural work of 10 of the towers being constructed in Hulhumale by FDC has been fully completed, which equals to approximately 1,200 residential apartments. These towers are currently undergoing finishing work.

While 32 towers are being built in Hulhumale Phase 2 under this project, a total of 4,000 housing flats are determined to be built within these towers wherein each tower consists of 17-18 storeys. This project includes 1,200 two-bedroom apartments and 2,800 three-bedroom apartments with each floor built to accommodates 8 apartments. FDC had previously assured that efforts will made to ensure completion of all the towers by the end of this year.

This housing project was assigned to two contractors by FDC. The 16 towers under the subproject “Amaan Udhares” loosely translated to “Tranquil skies” has been contracted to JMC Projects Limited while the construction of the remaining 16 towers under “Amaan Dhoadi”, translated to “Tranquil Rays” was assigned NBCC Limited.

Two loans with a sum total of USD 227 million (MVR 3.5 billion) were extracted from India’s Exim Bank in order to construct these flats, both of which the state has established sovereign guarantees for.
