Local telecom giant Dhiraagu has sponsored the teachers of the children’s shelter, Kuda Kudhinge Hiya, in the suburb of Villimale for another year.
Dhiraagu has sponsored the staff of Kuda Kudhinge Hiya since 2008 and provided relief and aid to the shelter in various forms. It established two computer laboratories, a library and free internet connection in the shelter, in addition to organising Children’s Evenings and other activities for the children during their school vacations.
“Our greatest priority in our CSR (corporate social responsibility) programme is to aid and care for children. To protect their rights,” declared Dhiraagu’s public relations manager Imjad Jaleel.
The company had also conducted an online child safety programme in collaboration with Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) earlier this year. Dhiraagu had also developed a play area in Maldives Autism Association and donated supplies to Care Society.
