The island council of Haa Alif atoll Muraidhoo has again put up for bid a land plot in the island’s southwest coast for guesthouse development.
According to Muraidhoo Island Council, the land plot measuring 45, 579 square feet is to be leased for 50 years. The council had received three proposals during the first bid of the plot but had to announce the bid again as the previous proposals did not qualify.
The bid is open for parties interested in the development and management of a guesthouse at the lessee’s own expense.
Interested parties are to submit their bid proposals to the island council by April 23.
The council assured that the allocated land area is suitable for guesthouse tourism. Muraidhoo island currently has a population of over 800.
