The Maldives' national airline, 'Maldivian' has launched a fare offering more than a 50 percent discount on tickets to Cochin and Trivandrum in India.
Under the promotion, which began last Thursday and runs until the end of this month, a return ticket to Cochin costs $216 (MVR 3330). The return ticket to Cochin used to cost $400 (MVR 6,168).
Maldivian Airlines has reduced the price of tickets to Trivandrum to $232 (MVR 3,577). The return ticket for the sector was previously priced at $500 (MVR 7,710).
The deadline for travel under the promotion is the 17th of next month.
The carrier run by Island Aviation is looking to start flights to other destinations in India besides Cochin and Trivandrum. Currently, Maldivian airlines travels internationally to Cochin, Trivandrum, and Dhaka in Bangladesh.
Maldivian currently operates an Airbus A320 aircraft for international flights. The national carrier is looking for another Airbus aircraft.
