According to Ministry of Tourism, tourist arrivals to Maldives have exceeded over 1.39 million.
As of November 9, total tourist arrivals reached 1,388,044. This marked a 31.5 percent increment in annual terms when compared with the same period in 2021. On the other hand, this marked a 3.2 percent decline when compared with the corresponding period in 2019.
Tourist arrivals in annual terms for the review period stood at 1,055,924 in 2021 whereas it stood at 1,433,207 in 2019.
Meanwhile, tourist arrivals from November 1 to 9, 2022 stood at 43,687. This marked a modest 1.6 percent increment from the same duration in 2021, during which arrivals stood at 42,996. On the other hand, this observed a 10.4 percent increment when compared with the same duration in 2019 during which arrivals had reached 39,589.
The daily average arrival in annual terms is at 4,435. Moreover, the average duration of stay in annual terms is currently at 8.1 days.

Tourist establishments are currently at 1,200 inclusive of resorts, guesthouses and safari vessels out of which 1,196 are operational. The combined bed capacity is at 60,231 out of which 59,335 beds are operational.
