Maldives promotes at German boat and water sports fair

The Maldives is taking part in “Boot”, one of the largest annual boat shows and water sports exhibitions in the world, held in Dusseldorf, Germany.

According to Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), fourteen representatives from six companies of the Maldives’ tourism sector are participating in “Boot”, which kicked off Saturday and will last till next Sunday. The Maldives’ delegate is headed by MMPRC’ acting Managing Director Haris Mohamed.

The exhibition showcases luxury yachts and water sports equipment in addition to promoting the hottest dive spots around the world. Over 200,000 visitors from 51 countries had attended the fair in 2015. This year’s fair boasts some new exhibitions, including a hall transformed into an indoor artificial beach and sea.

The Maldives’ boast a number of internationally renowned dive spots across the archipelago. According to the Maldives Visitors Survey conducted last September, 16 percent of tourists visit the archipelago for diving excursions.
