Telecom giant Ooredoo Maldives announced late Monday that its annual Color Run will be held for the first time in Kulhudhuffushi City this year.

Ooredoo made the announcement at the 'Maruhaba 2020' event held on Monday night to kickstart the company's 15th anniversary celebrations.

The company declared that the popular event will be held in Kulhudhuffushi on June 29, as part of Ooredoo's efforts to take its fun run to communities across Maldives. Ooredoo stated that registrations for the Color Run in Kulhudhuffushi will be opened soon.

Ooredoo will also hold the Color Run festivities in the reclaimed suburb of the capital, Hulhumale', on December 4, similar to previous years.

Ooredoo Color Run is a non-timed five-kilometre run open for applicants over the age of six, where participants are rewarded with a burst of colour powder at each kilometre-mark. The event, aimed towards families and friends, includes several activities such as a kite festival and water sports carried out over a weekend, concluding with lively music performances by local talents.

Ooredoo took the initiative to expand the highly popular run across the atolls last year, with a successful event held in Addu City.
