Economic expert Athif Shakoor and former Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) Governor Dr Fazeel Najeeb, on Sunday, released the first issue of the Maldives Economic Review.
The English publication was launched at a ceremony held at Maldives National University (MNU), which was attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohamed Shareef. The Maldives Economic Review will be published on a quarterly basis.
Athif expressed satisfaction at successfully launching the journal which he revealed was planned for 20 years.
"Our aim is to publish analytical articles on economics and business that can be used by journalists and writers", stated Athif.
Articles published in the journal will also be featured on the Maldives Economic Review website which was launched on February 1, 2019.
The first edition of the review consists of five articles written on subject manners such as fisheries, guesthouse tourism and the history of economic development in Maldives.
