Telecommunications giant Ooredoo Maldives, on Wednesday, launched their new e-Commerce Marketplace Platform, 'Moolee', which facilitates online payments, initial orders and nationwide delivery of goods.

'Moolee' is equipped with AI technologies, enabling conveniences such as consumer data-based recommendations, predictive analytics integrated customer support and uninterrupted 24-hour service.

Initially showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in Barcelona, the platform will provide a personalized and customized shopping experience based on usage, behaviour, environmental factors and preferences.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih emphasized the boost 'Moolee' would provide to small and medium businesses by facilitating easier methods for online purchases and sales. He also stated that innovations such as Moolee demonstrated digital technology's role in enhancing the quality of life.

The president stated that this platform would confer great benefits to the education and health sectors and that such advantages could potentially enhance Maldives’ human resources.

President Solih also commended Ooredoo as an example of successful foreign investment in the country and reiterated the government's welcoming stance on foreign investment.
