Former Minister of Economic Affairs Mohamed Saeed is to deliver an address at the World SME Forum (WSF), which is scheduled to be held in Beijing, China from June 21 to 23.
The Maavah MP also received the opportunity to become a member of the Advisory Committee of the China Association of Small and Medium Commercial Enterprises (CASME).
Saeed revealed that he would speak about challenges posed by protectionism to global economic integration. His upcoming address will mark the first time for a Maldivian citizen to speak at WSF.
First held in 2018, WSF is a private sector-led initiative that promotes the role of SMEs in the global economy by partnering with international financial institutions, development agencies, SME-related associations and chambers.
The theme for this conference is 'Global Economic Integration: Challenges and Opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises'.
