Ooredoo Maldives, on Sunday, announced that all calls to Sri Lanka via Ooredoo can be made at a reduced rate of MVR 1 per minute until 2359 hrs of April 21.

The telecom giant revealed that this change was brought in order to enable all Ooredoo customers to get in touch with their family and friends in the region, following the wake of explosions across Sri Lanka on Sunday morning.

Additionally, Consular Hotlines in Colombo can be contacted for assistance at +94727277072, +94766942654 or +960 7983400.

The bombs were set off in St. Sebastian's Church in Negombo, Zion Church in Batticaloa, and St. Anthony's Church, The Kingsbury Hotel, Cinnamon Grand Hotel, and Shangri-La Hotel in capital Colombo.

As of now, the death toll has risen to 185, with 35 confirmed deaths being foreigners. However, according to latest updates, no Maldivians suffered any injuries in the blasts.

"Our prayers and well wishes are with all those who were affected by this terrible incident", Ooredoo added.
