Tourist arrivals spike by 22 percent in March

Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed, on Tuesday, stated that tourist arrivals saw a hike of 22 percent in March 2019, at a press conference held at the ministry.

According to ministry statistics, tourist arrivals increased by 16.8 percent in February, and 6.5 percent in January.

The minister further noted a 15 percent increase in arrivals during the past three months. Statistics indicate that a total of 482,978 tourists arrived in the Maldives up until April 9.

Additionally, he highlighted a decline of tourist arrivals from China, the largest tourism market for Maldives.
