A man who attempted to rob a house in Maafannu, Malé, was injured last night when a concrete block from a house fell on him. The incident occurred while he attempted to flee the house, the Maldives Police Service said.
The police said they received the incident report at around 11:30 p.m. last night.
He is now being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH); however, the police provided no additional details.
The police said the concrete block fell when the burglar jumped from the house's balcony. The incident is being investigated further.
Parts of the balconies of some dilapidated buildings in the capital city have fallen and injured people in the past.
