Hithadhoo Regional Hospital (HRH) reported that a fifteen-year-old boy is being treated for serious injuries sustained in a gang violence that took place Tuesday.
The head of the hospital, Mohamed Najeeb, said that they are trying to transfer the injured boy to capital Male for further treatment.
Noting that the boy is currently stable, Najeeb added that serious injuries were caused to his head.
The gang violence incident took place around 10:30 pm Tuesday night while the boy was playing near his house. The boy is a ninth grader at Sharaffudeen School.
Maldives Police Service have arrested three people in relation to the violence.
