An official from MET Office claimed torrential rainfall is expected across the country until next week Sunday. Wind and gust are expected to pick up speed, resulting in rougher seas.

"Parts of Maldives will experience rainfall while some areas will experience heavy rain accompanied with thunder and lightning," the official commented.

Wind speeds are likely to remain between 13 to 23 miles per hour from West-Northwest. Gusts are expected to pick up speed at 45 miles per hour.
