Vehicles in Hulhumale' industrial zone to be removed before 23:00 hrs tonight

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has ordered the removal of all vehicles parked on roads within the industrial zone of Hulhumale' to facilitate a clean-up of the area.

In an announcement, Maldives Police requested that all vehicles be removed from nine roads in the industrial zone by 23:00 hrs tonight.

Many vehicles are parked illegally on Hulhumale' streets with many of them abandoned due to disrepair. Additionally, there are neglected vehicles that have become damaged over time.

HDC has previously towed illegally parked and abandoned vehicles in the area.

According to a 2022 survey conducted by HDC, there were 370 vehicles without registration numbers and 46 vehicles that were damaged beyond repair.
