The Maldives Police Service has initiated a search for an individual suspected of unauthorized transaction of MVR 10,500 from a third party's bank account.
Local law enforcement authorities have released the image of the suspect in an effort to identify the individual.
The police have requested the public or anyone with information about the individual's identity or whereabouts to contact them at 3322111 or the Maafannu Police Station at 9660183.
The unauthorized usage of bank accounts without the knowledge or consent of the account holder has been increasingly prevalent, with numerous reported cases of scams and fraudulent activities in 2022 as well.
