Maldives Immigration's Controller Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, on Thursday, stated that an operation to locate undocumented migrants will commence the following week.

During the ceremony held at Gan International Airport to introduce Business VISAs to Addu City, the Immigration Controller claimed that the biggest issue in Maldives is that of illegal expatriates, adding that it was one of the hardest problems to tackle.

Hassan further stated that the operation will be conducted in collaboration with all relevant authorities, including City Councils, Island Councils and Atoll Councils, noting the importance of working together for the development of the nation.

"Without the help of all councils and other stakeholders, it is going to be very difficult to solve the expatriate problem we face", he said.
