Minister of Health, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, visited Hulhumale’ Hospital yesterday, where he met with a visiting Chinese ophthalmology team conducting cataract surgeries as part of an eye camp.
Accompanied by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Maldives, Minister Nazim expressed gratitude for China’s continuous support in elevating healthcare services in Maldives.
The visit featured discussions focused on future collaborations aimed at enhancing ophthalmic services in the country. Minister Nazim highlighted the importance of a structured development plan to foster impactful development in eye care.
Ambassador Wang emphasized the success of the ongoing partnership with Hulhumale’ Hospital and underscored the value of continuing these collaborative efforts to bring advanced ophthalmic care to the Maldivian people.
In a post on social media platform X, Ambassador Wang celebrated the improved vision of patients treated by the Chinese medical team.
"Over the past three days, the [Chinese Ophthalmology] team performed nearly 60 surgeries for local patients. So happy to see that the Maldivian people benefit from China-Maldives close cooperation,” she said.
