Joali Maldives defends Raa Zone Championship for a second time

Joali Maldives has triumphed the finals against Cora Cora Maldives, 2-1 to defend their winning streak in the Raa Zone tournament of the Dhiraagu Tekkers Resort Futsal Cup 2024.

Joali Maldives has triumphed the finals against Cora Cora Maldives, 2-1 to defend their winning streak in the Raa Zone tournament of the Dhiraagu Tekkers Resort Futsal Cup 2024.

During the previous Raa Zone tournament last year, Joali Maldives had triumphed the finals at this same score.

Cora Cora Maldives had advanced directly into the finals this year after winning all their matches in the league round while Joali Maldives, secured their spot by defeating Joali Being 5-3 in the semifinals.

Besides claiming the title of best player in the finals, Juman Mohamed from Joali Maldives was also dubbed the best player of the zone this year as well. Shooting seven goals alongside Mohamed Isaam of Cora Cora Maldives, Juman had also clinched the top scorer award of the zone.

The athlete had also delivered a promising performance during the U21 Youth Championship in 2019 as well. However, he stepped away from the professional football scene after this season.

Among the best five players of the Raa Zone tournament was Cora Cora Maldives' Isam and Adam Thaufeeq, Joali Maldives' Muslim Mohamed, Ibrahim Nadheem Adam and Haneef Abdulla from Joali Being.

The title of best coach of the Raa Zone tournament was conferred to Abdulla Haneef (Benjo) while You and Me Maldives claimed the fair play award.

With this win, Joali Maldives is now set to face off against the Baa Zone champion, Milaidhoo Maldives in the Championship matches scheduled to commenced on Wednesday. During last year's Championship match, Joali Maldives had triumphed over Milaidhoo in a penalty shootout.
