The suspension of employees linked to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) fraud case has been lifted.

According to a HDC media official, 17 employees were suspended over the case. Three were terminated and one resigned. The remaining 13 have returned to work after their suspensions were lifted.

The employees were suspended in December last year following corruption allegations related to the Gedhoruveriyaa/Binveriyaa scheme. They were dismissed, re-employed, and suspended again. The suspension was lifted after a criminal investigation.

The case was launched after it was revealed that a plot of land was awarded to MWSC Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Fazeel Rasheed, the brother of then-HDC Managing Director Fazul Rasheed. The ACC and police are conducting a major investigation.

Fazul is also accused of destroying HDC documents.
