Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) will move key services to the government’s Tradian platform from June, as part of a broader digital transition to streamline import export processes.
In a statement issued last night, MPL said the decision follows a Cabinet directive to officially roll out the Tradian platform this Sunday.
The platform, launched in September last year, aims to connect businesses with government agencies involved in trade, particularly import and export.
From June, MPL services such as foreign vessel registration, submission of estimated time of arrival (ETA), and sea cargo import manifests will be available exclusively through Tradian.
The portal is designed to centralise the services of agencies responsible for issuing permits and approvals to businesses, simplifying processes and improving efficiency.
Tradian is part of the government's wider initiative to digitise trade and administrative services, making it easier for businesses to access the approvals and documentation they need under one digital platform.
