Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure announced that they are seeking public opinion on the rules and regulations to be established under the Construction Act.

The Planning Ministry revealed that a general meeting will be held on January 30 and February 1, for attendees to share their opinions on the new draft to amend the legislation on construction.

Individuals interested in participating are encouraged to email the ministry before official business hours draw to a close on Tuesday.

Earlier this month, the Civil Court ordered to enact 13 pending regulations under the Construction Act. While regulations on safety standards are to be introduced this month, the rest of the amendments are scheduled to be enacted at different timelines.

The Civil Court ordered the state to implement enhanced safety protocols in construction, in relation to the court case following the tragic passing of a young girl after she was struck by a cement bag that fell from a construction site in December 2018.
