Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) announces it will be paying MVR25,000 as bonus to each of its employees.
The announced bonus is given to MACL employees from retained profits of the fiscal year of 2021.
MACL is giving bonuses to employees for the first time in two years since 2019. The company temporarily halted disbursing bonuses due to Covid-19 pandemic's economic stress in 2020.
Employees received a bonus of MVR7,870.79 each in 2019, while this year MACL's bonus is thrice this amount.
Employees who were employed at MACL for the full fiscal year of 2021 is subject to the bonus. Employees who had either worked for a duration of six months or more in 2021, as well as employees who resigned or quit during the year will receive bonuses in accordance to their working duration last year.
Employees who were terminated from MACL last year in accordance with the company's disciplinary policy will not be subject to the bonus.
A circular sent out to the company's staff affirmed employees will receive their bonuses before August 18.
