Damas hosted its annual blood donation camp on Sunday as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The camp is held each year to commemorate the company's anniversary. This year marks its 22nd year in operation.

The camp will facilitate blood donations from the company's staff members and their families. The camp was held on Sunday until 4:00 p.m.

Damas said that a large number of its employees had enlisted to donate blood this year. The company encourages its staff and their family members to donate blood each year. Damas' Deputy Managing Director, Ahmed Solih, also said that the camp was well received.

"This is our 12th camp that we have hosted in partnership with Maldives Blood Donation. We estimate that over 50 percent of our company’s workforce will donate blood. We plan to host the camp in the coming years as well," he said.

Speaking about the camp, the Administrative Director of Damas Abdulla Adam, acknowledged the employees' support and cooperation in running the camp. "This will ease the challenges patients face in acquiring blood, and this will benefit many," he said.

He added that Damas was always committed to social welfare and the enhancement of the community.

Damas has helped Kudakudhinge Hiya, the state-run children's care facility, as well as the special needs persons' centre in K. Guraidhoo and other organisations on a regular basis.
