President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had dissolved Communications, Science and Technology, and brought two major changes to the cabinet.
Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan, who had been serving as Environment Minister was moved to be Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resource and Agriculture while Policy Secretary at President's Office Aiminath Shauna had been moved to be Minister of Environment, Climate Change, and Technology.
At a special ceremony held at the President's Office, both the new ministers took their oaths earlier on Wednesday morning.
Communications, Science and Technology Ministry after being dissolved, its function was moved under Environment, Climate Change, and Technology.
In a statement made by the Spokesperson to the President, Mabrook Abdul Azeez, had said these changes were made "to improve our services and achieve our pledged objectives."
Furthermore, after Mohamed Hamdhan has been appointed as Policy Secretary at the President's Office. He was serving as Under-Secretary there prior to the change.
Hamdhan had completed a Masters of Arts, Democracy and Election in University of Manchester in 2017, and previously completed his Bachelor of Arts in Policy Studies in Australian National University.
National Drug Agency had been moved under Health Ministry as well, Mabrook said.
