Six local companies, along with Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), are participating in the "Tourism Expo Japan" being held in Tokyo, Japan.
According to MMPRC, the expo started on September 2 and will continue until 23.
MMPRC highlighted that the Maldivian stall in the expo is designed to show the natural beauty of the country. Moreover, their main objective in taking part in the expo is to advertise and promote Maldivian tourism in the Japanese market.
During the fair, MMPRC aims to meet with popular media outlets of Japan and the main airlines that travel between Maldives and Japan, in order to discuss advertising strategies and campaigns to promote Maldives.
Visitors to the expo will be able to experience the underwater beauty of Maldives using virtual reality. Furthermore, visitors will be able to play a popular Japanese game, "Bingo". The winner of this game will be given the chance to spend a free vacation in Crown and Champa Resort.
Japan has one of the highest numbers of tourist arrivals to Maldives, with 22,110 tourists recorded by July this year.
