The physiotherapy and rehabilitation department of AMDC Clinic (Azmi-Naeem Medical & Diagnostic Centre) in Malé city has been relocated to a new building and opened to the public on Thursday.
The department was opened in a building three times larger than the previous one with many new services introduced. Health Minister Ahmed Naseem formally inaugurated the department located on the third floor of Maafannu Hudhuasurumahiyaage.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the minister has stated that the new physiotherapy department would benefit the public immensely as it provides several services that hasn't been made available prior to it's opening. He thanked AMDC for its efforts in providing health services.
AMDC Chairman Adam Naeem has said the clinic aims to provide high quality and comprehensive health care to the public. With many of the latest facilities, the physiotherapy department was shifted to a new building with the same goal," he said.
The physiotherapy division of AMDC has launched a number of new services, including "on-field" services for sports injuries, "shockwave therapy," to treat calcium deposits, and "neuro-rehabilitation," to treat a variety of vascular illnesses. Dry needling therapy to treat muscle clots, pediatric rehabilitation for children and women's health rehabilitation have also been introduced.
For senior citizens with mobility issues, the department offers physiotherapy with "home visit services".
Physiotherapy services can be sought from the department with the consultation of doctors outside of AMDC Clinic are also provided. Those seeking services can register for physiotherapy treatments at the AMDC clinic counters and through the hotline number.
