Muni Foundation and Fushifaru Maldives Resort has organized a large movement named "No More Plastic" which will be held next week Monday in the evening. This event will offer extensive insight on green initiatives and aims to stop use of single-use plastic.
The "Plastic aa Nulaa" event organized by Muni Foundation in collaboration with Fushifaru Maldives will be held on Monday next week.
Plastic aa Nulaa translates to "without plastic"
The event aims to raise awareness about the elimination of single-use plastics and familiarize people with this concept. It will take place starting from 16:30 hrs at Hulhumale' Central Park on Monday. Additionally, a program to clean the harbor area near the Central Park is scheduled to be held on Monday morning to kickstart the event.
The event is organized in collaboration with government institutions and various companies to urge and encourage individuals, companies and agencies to stop the use of single use and disposable plastics in response to the escalating global plastic pollution crisis. The event also aims to educate people on how to build sustainable lives and familiarize them with marine conservation.
This event will feature multiple activities designed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of single-use plastic. Additionally, it will provide information about environmentally friendly substitutes that can replace single-use plastic and promote initiatives to encourage the use of these sustainable alternatives.
General Manager of Fushifaru Maldives, Ahmed Siaar, CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, Khalid-Al-Hamadi, a marine biologist from Marine Conservation Center, Lorraine Aldridge and Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam are scheduled to speak during this event.
The organizer of this event, Fushifaru Maldives, is a resort actively engaged in green initiatives aimed at reducing carbon footprint and protecting marine life. The resort has discontinued the use of single-use plastic bags and has established a "Chef's garden," which produce most of their cooking ingredients to promote sustainability. Additionally, the resort has undertaken coral protection projects to safeguard the corals in the resort's reef.
Ahmed Siaar, the General Manager of Fushifaru Maldives, expressed that this event will be one of the most significant initiatives aimed at combating plastic pollution this year. He noted that they have received considerable support in this crucial effort to protect the environment, emphasizing that the collaboration of many for such an initiative brings great joy.
The other organizer of this event, Muni Foundation, is an organization engaged in significant efforts to protect the environment. Their goal is to mitigate the threats posed to the environment by ongoing changes in weather and to mobilize all available efforts to safeguard the natural ecosystem.
