The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of India made a significant interception off the Kerala coast earlier this year, seizing a massive consignment of drugs totaling 2,500 kg of methamphetamine. The drugs were intended to be shipped to the Maldives, India, and Sri Lanka, making it one of the largest single-day drug busts in India in recent times.

NCB Zonal Director P Aravindhan expressed concerns that there might be other carriers and motherships involved in drug trafficking. A Pakistani national has been arrested in connection with the seized drugs, and investigations have revealed that the drugs were part of a smuggling operation associated with Haji Saleem's network, who is the owner of a Pakistani drug cartel.

According to NCB Deputy Director General M. A. Aravindhan, the seized methamphetamine was described as very pure and expensive. He also mentioned that the drugs were intended for distribution in India, Maldives, and Sri Lanka, and further investigations are ongoing to follow up on other leads related to the case.

Indian media reports indicate that a significant number of individuals are allegedly involved in the drug trafficking operation under the direction of a Pakistani man.
