BML extends national surf team's official sponsorship

BML extends its official partnership with Maldives Surfing Association to sponsor national surfing teams.

Bank of Maldives (BML) has extended its partnership with Maldives Surfing Association (MSA) as the official sponsor for the national surfing team in both junior and senior categories.

Under this partnership, BML will also support the annual National Junior Surfing Championship, which is aimed at fostering the growth of young talent in the sport.

CEO and Managing Director of BML Karl Stumke said that "surfing is becoming a very popular sport in the Maldives, attracting both local and international enthusiasts. The athletes have a lot of potential to excel in regional and global competitions, as they have demonstrated in the past."

MSA's President Mohamed Sobah also commented on the sponsorship extension and said that the association is delighted and honoured to continue their partnership with BML Islamic.

"I appreciate the Bank and their ongoing support to our national team and their passion to develop sports and our young athletes," he added.

The bank said that they remain committed to playing an important part in developing sporting talent in the country through youth development programs and partnerships with national associations.

BML has also partnered with Maldives Olympic Committee to offer Sports Scholarship to help top athletes excel at the national and international level.
