State presses charges against Pakistani man Mohamed Abid, accused of killing Bangladeshi man. They both worked in Khanji Restaurant in Hulhumale’ prior to the murder.
The Bangladeshi man was murdered on April 16, following an argument between chef Abid and him.
After stabbing the Bangladeshi worker, Abid had fled the scene. He was brought under police custody within 24 hours, around 2 a.m. in the morning.
The Prosecutor General's Office said that a man has been charged to have killed with intent using a sharp object regarding the death of Bangladeshi national. The case was submitted to the Criminal Court on Wednesday.
The Bangladeshi man was taken to court nearly one and a half hour after he was stabbed, around 5:30 p.m. that day.
Abid had a lot of time to escape. By the time police arrived at Hanji Restaurant, the scene was destroyed as all the blood was cleaned. The body was also washed with water.
