STELCO has started a drive to clean electrical distribution boxes the company has placed on streets of Male'.
The program was inaugurated by STELCO Managing Director Hussain Fahmy, Minister of Climate Change, Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim and Male' City Mayor Adam Azim.
STELCO said that under this initiative, they will be removing stickers, posters and advertorials pasted onto their substations and distribution boxes.
Yesterday, at the inauguration, posters on the distribution box in front of STELCO Head Office were removed.
In addition to Male', STELCO provides services in 35 other islands, including Hulhumale' and Vilimale'. The company said that the boxes in those islands will also be cleaned in a similar manner.
The distribution boxes around the streets of Male' are often covered with old campaign posters, rental and sales ads and other announcements.
