Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has announced that they are seeking a new Chief Operating Officer / Managing Director (International) for Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO).
The post became vacant after PCB dismissed MIFCO's former CEO Ahmed Shamah Rasheed, who had been initially appointed by this administration. Shamah was dismissed after he was first placed under suspension in relation to a number of complaints received by the PCB.
PCB's announcement called for those with experience in the fisheries industry to apply for the position.
An appointment will be made after consideration of experience and qualifications of the applicants, they said. Applications can be sent in until July 15.
Generally, PCB does not announce vacancies for CEO/ MD position of state owned enterprises, with nominations from the government being appointed to such positions instead.
