President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih expressed his gratitude to Maldives Police Service and Maldives National Defence Force for vowing to uphold the September 23 Presidential Election results.

While speaking at a news conference held on Thursday, Solih's spokesperson Mariya Ahmed Didi stated that the security forces of Maldives assure the sustenance of the presidential election results despite the election being in danger of allegedly getting nullified.

"Beginning mid-day yesterday (Wednesday), there was a public fear of the final election results being manipulated. Therefore, I would like to extend immense gratitude on behalf of President-Elect Solih, to the police and military forces of Maldives for giving assurance to the public regarding the sustenance of the election results. It is a testament to their duty to the law and the people of Maldives" said Mariya.

However, Mariya expressed her dismay towards the death threats targeted at Minister of Legal Affairs Aishath Azima Shakoor of the President's Office, due to the public distress regarding the final election results. She guaranteed that no members of the opposition coalition were making such threats.

"No supporters of our coalition will make such a threat", said Mariya.

Additionally, she highlighted the rumors of the destruction of official documents and identified it as a punishable offense. Furthermore, she vehemently expressed her concern towards the hiring and firing of civil servants and demanded that it be brought to a stop.
