The Anti-Corruption Commission has raided the shop owned by BAM President Moosa, which sells sports equipment, along with other premises associated with him, amidst corruption allegations.
The Anti-Corruption Commission has conducted a raid on the shop owned by Moosa Nashid, President of the Badminton Association of Maldives (BAM), which sells sports equipment in addition to other premises associated with him, amid corruption allegations.
ACC stated that these searches were being conducted at premises linked to Moosa as part of its investigation, under a court order.
"For the purpose of the commission's ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption in the Badminton Association of Maldives, some premises linked to the President of the association are being searched under a court order," the commission said in a note to the media.
ACC also raided the BAM's office last Tuesday.
Subsequently, the ACC ordered that the BAM elections be put on hold until further notice, as the case pertaining to alleged corruption was also being investigated in connection with the elections that were earlier scheduled to be held yesterday.
The badminton shuttles purchased by BAM are also sourced from Moosa's Askani Sports shop.
The Badminton Association stated that it purchases shuttles from Askani in accordance with the established guidelines.
It is also alleged that the association has rented premises from the houses of senior officials.
