President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has revealed plans to build 1000 housing units in Baa atoll Eydhafushi.

Speaking at an event held to launch the campaign website for Eydhafushi MP and PPM / PNC parliamentary candidate Ahmed Saleem, President Dr Muizzu stated that the government has planned several development projects for the future.

The President noted that the most important issue faced by citizens of Eydhafushi constituency was that of housing, and announced the government's decision to build 1000 housing units on the island to alleviate concerns.

"Under Saleem's initiative, all the initial work is now underway, and the government will soon give the greenlight to the project for development of 1000 housing units in Eydhafushi," said the President. He added that people of the constituency should support Saleem's hard work and requested they cast their votes for him in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Praising Saleem's efforts, President Dr Muizzu said that it was MP Saleem who had taken the project through the initial stages by working with the government.

Highlighting plans for additional development aside from the housing projects in his speech, the President stated that all of it would require support from the citizens. He urged the public to vote for candidates endorsed by the government in the parliamentary elections slated for 21 April.
