Ahmed Ali, who worked in the Baa atoll Eydhafushi Education Center for decades, have passed away on Saturday.
Ali, who is known to have worked tremendously to make the school in Eydhafushi one of the most successful ones in Central Maldives, passed away from a heart attack while walking near Hudhumaa during a trip to Malé.
He was taken directly to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital following the incident, which occurred around noon yesterday.
He had done angioplasty twice in the past.
The current Principal of Eydhafushi Education Center, Ahmed Rafeeu, and nephew of Ali, told Mihaaru News that Ali worked tirelessly to make the school a notable brand within education circles in the Maldives. He had started as a teacher and worked his way up to the role of Deputy Principal of the school. Ali had also worked at Dharavandhoo School in the same atoll and Gaafu Dhaalu atoll Gadhoo school as well.
“I have worked for around 20 years with Dhonbeybe. He is an honorable man. I was able to see his work very closely,” Rafeeu said.
When he reached the retirement age of 65 last year, he retired from the role and worked as an administrator in the school. He had worked in the education field for 43 years at this point.
