Court refuses to release Bodufinolhu expats from administrative custody

The Criminal Court, on Saturday, refused to issue a writ of habeas corpus to release 19 expatriate workers arrested on Bodufinolhu, Baa Atoll from Maldives Immigration's administrative custody.

Legal representatives of the expatriates submitted a case to the Criminal Court, requesting a writ of habeas corpus on the basis that the workers were being illegally detained at a facility located in the reclaimed suburb of Hulhumale'.
