“Dhigufaru Island Resort” being developed in the island of Dhigufaruvinagandu in Baa atoll is to be unveiled August 15.
The resort situated in Baa atoll’s UNESCO Biosphere features 30 beach villas and 10 semi villas.
It is the first resort to be developed by Dhigufaru Investment Pvt Ltd of which local firm Static Company Pvt Ltd is a shareholder. With the opening of the resort, the company will also be inaugurating its luxury yacht “Dhainkamba”.
Dhigufaru (long reef) is the namesake of the long stretch of reef amidst which the island rests, boasting a sizeable lagoon. It is situated a 45-minute flight from Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.
The resort features three restaurants offering a range of cuisines from across the world and a special bar named “Thundi Pool Bar”. Dhigufaru also offers spa services with its “Funa Spa” and other facilities such a diving school, fishing trips, dolphin spotting and picnics to Dhonveli Finolhu according to the resort’s website.
Baa atoll currently has ten luxury resorts. The newest addition is the five-star “Finolhu”, developed in the island of Kanifushi, with three more resorts to be opened in the atoll.
