Azima Shukoor Affirms Commitment to President Dr. Muizzu's Vision, Vows to Implement Manifesto Together

In order to realize President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's vision, it is crucial to elect a mayoral candidate committed to upholding his manifesto, as asserted by Azima Shakoor, the mayoral candidate endorsed by the Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) and People's National Congress (PNC).

During an interview with Mihaaru News, Azima emphasized the previous political differences between the government and the city council, underscoring the significance of selecting a candidate aligned with the current government's perspectives. She stressed that such political conflicts adversely impact the citizens, emphasizing the need for continuity in national vision irrespective of changes in leadership.

Azima argued that Male' has been embroiled in a prolonged struggle between the government and the Male' City Council for the past 15 years, hindering progress. She pointed out that even when President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu served as the mayor, the desired outcomes were impeded by this ongoing discord.

PPM/PNC has endorsed Azima Shakoor for the position of Male' city mayor with the aim of implementing Dr. Muizzu's strategic action plan, which is yet to be realized. Azima expressed confidence in her ability to accomplish this goal, drawing on the principles outlined in the ''Dhivehinge Raajje'' manifesto and her own experiences.

Azima's manifesto includes several key points

- Reform the governance system to incorporate public input.

- Establish education and training programs to facilitate employment.

- Provide opportunities for the occupation of children with disabilities and employment of women.

- Construct a 24-hour vet center and address the issue of stray cats on the streets.

- Develop a nature garden in Dhvehirajje.

- Bring a stop to the practice of keeping parks locked.

- Formulate a plan for recreational sports in the city.

- Open a public library.

Azima expressed confidence in collaborating with the government to implement President Dr. Muizzu's plan. She urged the electorate to grant her the opportunity to make a positive impact, highlighting the commitment of her team, including her past collaboration with President Dr. Muizzu in the same cabinet.
