Allied Insurance launched an insurance scheme for guesthouses on Saturday.
Introduced at the BML Guesthouses Maldives Conference, the first guesthouse conference hosted by the island nation, the scheme consists of three packages with Budget, Budget Plus and Premium.
The three packages compensate for damages caused by fire accidents, explosions, lightning, rallies and riots, and vandalism. The scheme also covers damages caused to guesthouses by vehicles and aircrafts, and natural disasters and compensates injuries caused to third parties via guesthouse operations.
Additional features of Budget Plus include theft insurance, life insurance and compensation for injuries and damages caused by accidents to permanent staff.
The Premium package includes all the features of Budget and Budget Plus along with compensation for injuries caused by water sports, as well as financial loss of halting the business due to natural disasters.
“Allied Insurance company hopes that with these packages, guesthouses seek protection under the insurance umbrella, and proceed with safety and security to reap all the benefits and profits of this valuable business,” said Allied’s managing director Ahmed Ameel.
