Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has placed a ban on two syrups administered to children as a painkiller due to it containing dangerous chemicals.

In an alert issued today, MDFA said that diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol was discovered in two medications used as painkillers found in the Maldives market while a quality screening was being conducted.
