Three individuals have been arrested from Vaavu Atoll BoduMohoraa on charges of possession and sale of alcohol.
The three men arrested are two Maldivians and a Sri Lankan.
Police said that they were arrested in a special operation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Department based on information received by Police Intelligence.
The individuals placed under arrest are Ahmed Ashraf , 43 years, from Maafannu Lux Garden, Amjad Mohamed , 50 years, from Blue Heaven, Gaafu Dhaalu atoll Thinadhoo, and Nalin Indika Kodikara, 53 years, from Sri Lanka.
Police revealed that 24 bottles of alcohol had been found in searches conducted during this operation.
