Urbanco has called for the removal of snack huts and other structures placed on vacant plots on the beach area opposite Hiyaa flats in Hulhumalé 2.
The directive was issued on the last day of the current presidential term in response to growing complaints against these establishments operating without regulations.
Even on privately owned land plots, people have constructed huts for commercial use.
Urbanco announced that the huts and other structures on the vacant plots near the beach area adjacent to Hiyaa flats (H12) should be removed by November 25, and the area should be cleaned.
Urbanco said that it would not be responsible for any damage to property during the clearing process. If the items are not removed within the specified time, the company will proceed with clearing the area.
