Four cabinet Ministers are currently in Saudi Arabia for different official meetings. .
These ministers are Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer and Minister of Finance Dr Mohamed Shafeeq.
Minister Shaheem is in Saudi Arabia to participate in the Muslim World League's Supreme Council meeting.
Islamic Affairs Ministry stated that Shaheem has also met with Kuwait's Zakat House Director General Dr. Majed Sulaiman Alazmi and discussed training opportunities for the staff of the Maldives Zakat House and Shariah Board, as well as the requirements of zakat receivers.
Shaheem also met with Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Asheikh, Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
Finance Minister Dr Shafeeq has held deliberations with leaders of various international financial institutes during his visit to Saudi Arabia. This includes OPEC Fund, Saudi Development Fund, and the Islamic Development Bank. Dr Shaheem also accompanied Dr Shafeeq to these meetings.
Foreign Minister Zameer and Economic Minister Saeed are in Saudi Arabia to attend a special meeting of the World Economic Forum
The Foreign Ministry said that during the trip, Minister Zameer will be meeting with senior officials of different nations as well.
