A police officer's motorcycle was damaged and set on fire early this morning in connection with an anti drug operation in Noonu atoll Henbadhoo.
Police Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Shifan, stated that the first incident occurred early Wednesday night, where an officer's bike was damaged. Another officer's motorcycle was set on fire last night and damaged beyond repair, he said.
Police allege the damage was caused by suspects involved in a drug operation conducted by the police in Noonu atoll.
Shifan emphasized that such cowardly acts will not deter the courage and determination of the police.
Police are investigating both cases. However, no arrests have been made so far.
