After attending the coronation ceremony of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed returned to Maldives this morning.
The first couple were welcomed at the Velana International Airport (VIA) by Vice President Faisal Naseem and Defense Minister Maryia Ahmed Didi.
President Solih and First Lady Fazna left for the UK on Wednesday to attend the coronation ceremony.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla were officially crowned in Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6.
The first couple visited London in September last year to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
The government had faced criticism for spending nearly MVR 3 million on the five-day visit to UK last year.
