Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with the altercation that occurred during a football match at Galolhu Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Law enforcement detained a 21-year-old Maldivian man and a 35-year-old Maldivian man regarding the incident. The court has ordered their detention in police custody for 15 days.

The court's ruling indicates that both suspects are charged with assault, intimidation, and engaging in acts prejudicial to public interest. Both individuals have a history of criminal offenses.

Video evidence provided by the police indicates the active involvement of the 35-year-old man on the field, as mentioned in the court order. Despite defense claims that he had entered the field with the permission of the FAM, no supporting documents were presented before the trial court to substantiate this assertion.

The defense informed the court that he did not engage in physical violence and identified himself as a team official.

The police had announced on Thursday that they were looking into the incident.

During the last 10 minutes of the second division football tournament between Kuda Henveiru and Victory, a confrontation ensued, leading to an attack on their coach Sobah Mohamed Ibrahim.

Following the 82nd minute of the match, a group supporting Kuda Henveiru went up on the field, escalating tensions. One of the protesters slapped Sobah in the face, causing injury.

Violence erupted in the match when Mohamed Hajim Riffath of Kuda Henveiru committed a foul against Anatoly, resulting in a dispute after referee Mohamed Javiz Anatoly issued a yellow card instead of a red card when Anatoly deliberately kicked Riffath. Kuda Henveiru had previously expressed dissatisfaction with the referee's decisions.

Additional police personnel were dispatched to the ground on the same day to assist in maintaining order amid the violence.
